In MBA courses, it's customary to kick off strategy work with a SWOT analysis. In the real world, I've found it useful to precede SWOT analysis with what I informally call "Leverage Analysis": who wants what, who has what kind of leverage on whom, and what are the consequences if each player violates the others' leverage.

Does Game Theory speak to those questions?
